As the City of Lake Lafayette works towards building a better tomorrow maintaining properties plays an important role in neighborhood pride and success of our city.
The city of Lake Lafayette would like to remind residents and property owners existing ordinances require properties to be clear of trash, junk, and or weeds/tall grass. This incudes cleaning of culverts and clearing trees /weeds in ditches and or hanging in the road. These are all things that you as a property owner are responsible for. This is not about creating new rules it is about applying existing rules throughout our community.
If your property is one of the properties that is not in compliance with city ordinances this is your 20-day notice to get your property in compliance by mowing overgrown grass/weeds, trimming/ cutting trees that are on your property that are in the ditch or hanging into the road, remove any and all trash/junk and cleaning out the culverts for your driveways before enforcement actions become necessary. Our goal is not punishment. Our goal is a cleaner, safer, and more welcoming city for our residents, and visitors.

Together we can continue building a community we are proud to call home.
If you have any questions, please call or email Lake Lafayette City Hall

Thank you,
City of Lake Lafayette and
Lake Lafayette Police department
