Unique and whimsical, the Flowering Bridge, created in 2013, contained 30 themed gardens on and beside an historic 1925 bridge. Come enjoy the gardens!

The Bridge is gone for now, but the gardens remain and we are welcoming visitors. Community-based non-profit 501(c)(3) organization of volunteers

Mulch and compost bins for the gardens!
Our amazing group of volunteers have been constructing mulch and compost bins with gates this month. Designed by volunteer Kenneth Tanner, the bins will have front and side access for easy shoveling. The structure is being stained in a dark walnut color and will look very nice in the garden. We are so proud of this new structure built entirely by this wonderful team of volunteers!

Join us for a class September 9th at 10am to learn how to grow carnivorous plants. We will cover how to grow plants outside all year round and which plants can be grown inside your home. Learn how to create a mini bog in your yard filled with Venus flytraps, sundews and beautiful flowering pitcher plants.

The class is limited to 10 participants and is $15.00 per person. Fee is non-refundable.

Progress on the Rainbow Bridge water feature! The water feature resembling a river is now flowing in the Rainbow Bridge garde.
The new Rainbow Bridge will cross over this 'river' and take visitors to a small patio with benches. The bridge is being constructed of redwood and is expected to be delivered in October. Designed by Amy Wald, the new bridge will look very similar to the original bridge. Stay tuned for more updates!

In yesterday's class at our Education Center, attendees learned all about native solitary bees and how they benefit our environment. As part of the class, participants created a bee nesting house to take home with them. We loved the creativity!

Rainbow Bridge Update!
Construction of the new 80 foot water feature "creek" is well under way. Workers with Jay's Lawn & Landscape Co. have done a gorgeous job placing bolders and rocks along the creek bed. We can't wait to see the water flowing over the rocks!

The new Rainbow Bridge will cross over this "creek" and bring vistors to a small terrace, which is also under construction. Local artist Amy Wald is designing the new Rainbow Bridge and she is making a special section for the collars that were recovered after the storm.

A beautiful garden, designed by Paul Zimmerman Roses Consulting & Design will feature assorted roses, pink dogwood trees and seasonal flowers.

Last week we saw some visitors looking for a commemorative brick in the gardens. When we offered to help find the brick, the visitors said their brick was installed before the storm in the Atrium. All of the Atrium bricks had to be moved, so we consulted the database and found that the brick was recovered, but broken. A volunteer searched the storage area in the back and found the visitors brick. The damage is being repaired and this brick will be reinstalled near the Courtyard. We are so pleased to have had the opportunity to make them smile!

Crystal Suncatchers!
Yesterday our "Artreach" director, Amy Wald taught participants how to make beautiful beaded crystal suncatchers. Every design was unique and we were delighted to see the results.

Volunteers installed a fountain in the Refection Point Terrace today. This is another fountain that was recovered after the storm. Originally installed on the east end gardens, this fountain was installed in honor of the mother of our chairperson, Kathy Tanner. The fountain was later moved to the Come Sit Awhile garden in the west end of the gardens, which is where it was when the hurricane floods came through. Today the fountain is working again in its new location.

Chairs will soon surround the fountain, giving visitors a pleasant place to sit and watch the river go by.
