đź’ˇ2026 Anthony JE Stefanacci Be the Light Initiative Scholarship Recipient Spotlightđź’ˇ

We are proud to recognize Christopher Thomas as the first scholarship recipient of the Anthony JE Stefanacci Be the Light Initiative.

Christopher is a volunteer firefighter with the Hadley-Luzerne Fire Department and is currently a freshman at Hudson Valley Community College, majoring in Paramedicine.

Christopher was also a friend of Anthony, as both of their fathers served with the Saratoga Springs Fire Department. His dream is to follow in his father’s footsteps and become a Saratoga Springs firefighter himself.

We are proud to support Christopher as he pursues a career dedicated to helping others and continuing the tradition of service that has already shaped so much of his life.

It doesn’t look like it yet but Spring is coming! NYS burn ban in effect from March 16th - May 14th.

Spring conditions in our area often bring dry ground and gusty winds, which can cause even small fires to spread quickly. This seasonal ban helps reduce the risk of wildfires and protects our homes, neighborhoods, and first responders.

If you’re unsure whether something is allowed, please check before you burn.

Let’s work together to keep South Glens Falls safe this spring. 🔥👨‍🚒
