Snails, snails and more snails! Mr. Angel's story time for the Lake Mills Community Preschool featured 2 books about silly snails. The children were able to color and decorate their own snails as well as hunting for snail friends around the library!

Mary Walk, with the Winnebago County Farm Bureau, was our final presenter for our Summer Reading Program today. She read the book, I Love Blueberries, and then donated it to the library! The kids followed up the story by doing a little planting of their own, and left with an activity packet all about blueberries. What a great summer of events we have had this year! Thank you to all who have participated! Thank you to all the amazing entertainers and presenters! Thank you to our generous sponsors! Thank you to our wonderful staff! For those of you who aren't in to see this sign posted by our prize cart, we just wanted to acknowledge the American Legion Post 235 and Singelstad Hardware for their help sponsoring prizes for the Summer Reading Program for the bookmark incentive participants who worked so hard to read their minutes and color in their leaves all summer! The prize cart will be available until August 21st ~ so keep reading!

LMPL was at the Farmer's Market yesterday. We did an activity teaching kids about the parts of a flower using a lollipop as the stem and the seed ~ which was delicious by the way (just ask Gemma!). They also got to see what pollination was all about with our bees, flowers, and mac & cheese powder! It was a fun couple hours of experiential learning that followed our Summer Reading Program theme of "Plant a Seed, Read!"
