We have received reports of a phone scam where the caller claims to be a Sheriff’s Deputy and tells the recipient that a warrant has been issued for failing to appear for jury duty. The caller then pressures the victim to make a payment to avoid arrest.

⚠️ This is a scam.

Law enforcement agencies do not call to demand payment for missed jury duty, and they will never request payment by phone, gift cards, or electronic transfer.

If you receive a call like this:
• Do not provide personal information
• Do not send money
• Hang up immediately

If you are unsure, contact your local law enforcement agency directly using their official phone number.

A few weeks ago, Lake Orion Bike & Adventure Co reached out to the Lake Orion Police Department wanting to donate bicycles and helmets to kids in need. We partnered with Blanche Sims Elementary School to help identify students and coordinate the delivery and today, those bikes found their new homes.

Seeing the smiles and excitement from these kids made it all worth it. This is what makes Lake Orion special. A community where local businesses, schools, and neighbors truly look out for one another.

Thank you to Lake Orion Bike and Adventure Co. and Blanche Sims Elementary for helping make this happen. We love our community!!

A tremendous amount of planning and preparation goes into the Orion Lighted Parade in Downtown Lake Orion and we are proud to help bring this special event to our community each year.

Your public safety teams work side-by-side to ensure everyone can enjoy the parade safely. We want to extend a sincere thank you to our partners at the Oakland County Sheriff's Office and the Orion Township Fire Department for their teamwork and dedication.

It’s an honor to serve this community, and we hope everyone has a safe and memorable holiday season!
