In response to the potential for rapidly changing conditions associated with the water main leak in Auburn Hills, Orion Township has declared a state of emergency. This proactive step allows the Township to secure county and state support resources if needed.

At present, Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA) maintains that the leak remains stable and residents are still encouraged to use water as normal. However, in the case of a water main break, Orion Township is expecting to experience a water outage for up to several days.

If this should occur, coordinated emergency measures to support community health and safety will be implemented, including multiple emergency water stations and assistance for vulnerable populations.

We implore everyone to subscribe to CivicPlus for free urgent alerts here or by texting OrionMI to 38276. We will continue to post updates on Facebook and our website, CivicPlus will be our instant notification source if emergency action is required.
