CONGRATULATIONS to our Summer Library Challenge Grand Prize winners! This summer, 1736 kids participated and read for over 1.6 MILLION minutes.

Yesterday we pulled the names of 20 lucky kids who worked hard to read and adventure this summer as part of our Summer Library Challenge. We have emailed all 20 winners (check your spam folder!) and have posted the list at the top of the Children's stairs here at the Library.

Marie, a 3rd grader at Palisades, was thrilled to pick up her extra cool prize bag full of goodies and coupons from awesome local businesses. Congrats Marie, congrats to all 20 winners, and congrats to ALL the kids in Lake Oswego who participated this summer!

This September, the Stairwell Gallery will come alive with Susan Schenk’s captivating mixed‑media artworks, where forgotten atlas pages are reborn as sculptural, nature‑inspired forms. A self‑confessed cartophile, Schenk rescues maps left behind in a GPS world and transforms them into intricate, elevated compositions that deliberately obscure familiar details and reward close, curious looking. Come to the Library and see what you notice in this unique art display.

The book follows three lonely strangers in a rural Oregon town, each working through grief and life's curveballs, who are brought together by happenstance on a local honeybee farm.
