The original Lake Park CRA was adopted in 1996 as a proactive approach to reverse the Town's declining fortunes, and restore a sense of place and community through revitalization of the
physical and economic environment in the designated areas. The 1996 CRA board presented a plan that served as the framework for programming redevelopment activities and implementing
specific projects designed to

leverage or stimulate public interest and private investment that is necessary for revitalization. Redevelopment is one of the best ways to instill new life into areas stricken by social, physical, environmental or economic conditions that negatively impact the possibility of new investment
by private enterprise. The targeted area/areas receive focused attention and financial investment that reverse the destructive trends, create jobs, restore a business climate, rehabilitate and increase housing, and inspire active participation and investment by residents, businesses, and organizations that would otherwise not occur.

Residents will also have the opportunity to hear from Finance Director Barbara Gould, ask questions, and learn more about how financial decisions support services across Lake Park.

NEXT PHASE OF LAKE PARK PAVEMENT PRESERVATION PROGRAM RESCHEDULED FOR WEDNESDAY, MAY 27, 2026, THROUGH THURSDAY, JUNE 4, 2026

The Town of Lake Park has contracted with Asphalt Paving Systems, Inc. to resurface several roads within the Town. The resurfacing will be a two-step process (milling and paving), and the road will have a smooth surface after the final step is complete. There will be limited access to the impacted roads during work hours (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM), however full access will be available before and after those hours. The project is expected to begin on Wednesday, May 27, and run through Thursday, June 4; milling is expected to take place on Wednesday, May 27 through Friday, May 29, followed by paving on Monday, June 1, through Thursday, June 4.

To ensure the work can be performed, please note the following:

1. PLEASE ENSURE NO VEHICLES, BOATS, TRAILERS, DEBRIS, ETC. ARE LEFT IN THE ROADWAY FROM 7:00 AM TO 7:00 PM.

2. ALL IRRIGATION SYSTEMS NEED TO BE TURNED OFF BETWEEN 7:00 AM AND 7:00 PM.

3. THE WORK WILL BEGIN BY FIRST APPLYING OIL AND STONE (CHIPS). A FEW DAYS LATER THE MICRO-SURFACING “COVER” COURSE WILL BE PLACED. BETWEEN THESE TWO PROCESSES THERE MAY BE SOME LOOSE AGGREGATE. PLEASE TRAVEL SLOWLY UNTIL THE FINAL COVER COURSE IS PLACED. THE ROADS WILL BE SWEPT SEVERAL WEEKS AFTER THE COVER HAS BEEN PLACED.

Motorists and pedestrians are advised to exercise additional caution while traveling along the impacted roads and follow directions posted on temporary traffic signs and/or provided by construction personnel or flag bearers.
