Lake Placid Central School is seeking the following candidates who are safe and dependable, to join our school transportation team. The ideal candidates will enjoy working with children and take pride in providing safe, reliable transportation for our students.

Bus Driver 10 month– 25 hours week/5 hours a day. Salary $20.00 to $22.00 an hour. Begin ASAP

Anticipated Automotive Mechanic/Bus Driver – 12 month – 40 hours week. Salary $52,000.00 to $65,000.00. Begin November 9, 2026.

These positions receive an excellent benefits package, including health, dental, & vision, and qualify for NYS Retirement. Unlicensed candidates are welcome to apply. Additional training and incentives are available.

Lake Placid Central School is seeking a friendly, organized, and dependable full time School Secretary to join our school team. The position will begin on November 2, 2026 and will be 40 hours a week with pay to be between $24-$26 an hour. The ideal candidate will be professional, welcoming, and able to effectively manage a busy school office while providing excellent support to students, families, teachers, and staff.

Qualified candidates will be required to take a Civil Service Exam. Alumni news …

Alumni News: Georgie Rickard (2017 Piano Performance/Music Business double major) reached out with an update. She notes that since graduating from Crane, her career “has expanded from performance and music business into composing music for film and video games.” In 2025, Georgie earned a Master of Music in Screen Scoring from New York University, and she is pictured here on her NYU graduation day. Her work in film music has included composing music for the feature film “Boxcutter,” and her video game audio work has received an Honorable Mention for Best Audio at NYC Global Game Jam and second place in the IGDA | Unlikely Collaborators Game Jam. She also wrote “I’m grateful for my time at Crane!” Thank you, Georgia, and best wishes in all your creative endeavors.
