PSA: "Senior Assassin" game comes with major risks

This week, the Highlands County Sheriff's Office School Resource Unit learned that a large group of Sebring High School students was planning to take part in a game called "Senior Assassin."

The game involves students attempting to “assassinate” seniors using water guns, Orbeez guns, Nerf guns, and similar items.

SHS has sent a message to students and parents, and HCSO wants students at all schools to understand the risks associated with this game.

Bringing any item that even resembles a weapon onto school grounds is a crime and could result in an arrest and expulsion from school.

Even off campus, this type of game carries a risk. While many of the "weapons" used are brightly colored, they still could be mistaken for a real firearm and provoke a response from someone with a real gun who believes they are acting in self-defense or in defense of another person.

Parents, please talk to your students about the dangers of this type of activity.

The Boil Water Notice for the Town of Lake Placid has been rescinded. Our latest water system samples are satisfactory.

🚰 **Water Break + Precautionary Boil Water Notice** 🚰

The Town of Lake Placid is working to repair a **water break** in the area of Dock 633 on Lake June Rd. The following affected areas: Lake June Road and the Lake Francis area, including Cloverleaf Road* and **surrounding communities.

⚠️ Water service interruption:
There will be interuptions in water service* for residents in the affected areas until the break is repaired.

💧 Precautionary Boil Water Notice:
A precautionary boil water notice is in effect for the affected areas until water sample testing is complete and results confirm it is safe to use the water.

📌 What to do:
Boil water used for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, and preparing food until the notice is lifted.

🚨 **Precautionary Boil Water Notice** 🚨

Due to ongoing water system concerns, a **precautionary boil water notice** is issued for the following areas:
- **Watersedge**
- **Kingswood Manor**
- **Crocket Village**
- **Paradise Mobile Home Park**
- **Lake Garden Mobile Home Park**
- **Elkam Rd area**
- **Tower Street area and surrounding**, up to **Alderman (north)**

**What to do:**
Until further notice, please **boil your water before use** (drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, and making ice) in accordance with local guidance.

🧪 **Testing Update:**
Water tests will be taken on **Sunday**, and results are expected back on **Tuesday**.

📣 **Next Update:**
We will notify everyone as soon as results are received and the **precautionary boil water notice can be lifted**.

There is a water main break in the area of U.S. 27 and C.R. 621 East . This break will affect water service for homes east of U.S. 27 , including:
