The installation of the newest Public Art-Decorated OmniRide Bus Shelter, painted by is a testament to the power of partnership and creativity.

It was an honor to spend a morning with the Woodbridge Woman's Club, Keep Prince William Beautiful, Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission and Prince William County Government, Virginia staff to cut the ribbon on this beautiful display at Old Bridge Road near Chinn Park Regional Library.

Just as multiple organizations came together to make this project possible, this effort furthers community goals around transit, beautification, and responsible stewardship of our public spaces. The stop also serves a daycare, The Glen, Tribute at The Glen, and the Chinn Aquatics and Fitness Center, making this location highly functional and now, beautiful.

Thanks to Congressman Eugene Vindman for including me in his ’07 Youth Civic Initiative Community Showcase. An impressive group of local students built the event around America’s past, present, and future, bringing together local history, nonprofits, presentations, creative activities, and reflections on freedom, responsibility, and citizenship as our great nation approaches our 250th anniversary.

I was especially blown away by the student-made documentary. Their work is a reminder that civic engagement is not something reserved for adulthood. It begins whenever young people are invited to participate, lead, and believe that their voices matter.

Tomorrow, Prince William County Public Schools and the Prince William County Community Foundation will host a` free community event for the entire family. 🎉 Enjoy free food, STEM activities, career exploration, entertainment and more. Plus, students will be set to succeed with free school supplies. 📝 📓

☑️ One ticket per person will be provided for food at the event while supplies last.
