Even without a parade, we still stand united in remembrance. Today we honor the sacrifices of our service members past and present, and all frontline heroes who serve their communities with courage and dedication. We will never forget.

Memorial Day is just 1 week and 1 day away. If we’re going to make this year different, the time to make plans is now.

Every year, our community comes together in incredible numbers to celebrate traditions like the St. Patrick’s Day parade. We love seeing those streets packed with support and hometown pride.

But Memorial Day means something different. It’s not just a parade — it’s a chance to honor the men and women who gave their lives so we could enjoy the freedoms and celebrations we often take for granted.

It’s hard not to notice the difference: thousands come out to celebrate, but only dozens come out to remember.

This Memorial Day, we’re asking our community to show up. Bring your family. Bring your kids. Line the streets. Wave your flags. Let our veterans, active service members, and first responders see that their sacrifices still matter.

A little bit of your time can mean a lot to those who have given so much.

Let’s make sure remembrance gets the same support as celebration. We hope to see you there.

🎄 Thank You for a Great Santa Run! 🎅🚒

Tonight’s Santa Run was truly special, and we want to sincerely thank everyone who came out to our stops to see the trucks, meet Santa, and enjoy the holiday spirit with our volunteers. Seeing so many smiling faces — especially the kids — is exactly why we do this, and we greatly appreciate the kind words and support shared by so many in our community.

We would also like to take a moment to address some of the feedback we received regarding the route and format of this year’s event. In past years, we have tried different approaches, including driving through neighborhoods. While always done with good intentions, that format made it difficult to ensure consistency and fairness, and unfortunately still resulted in people feeling unintentionally left out.

This year, by hosting designated stops, our goal was to provide a safer, more organized experience where families could spend meaningful time with Santa, see the apparatus up close, take photos, and truly enjoy the event — rather than a brief drive-by.

We also want to respectfully note that every volunteer fire department is unique in its staffing, resources, coverage area, and community needs. While we appreciate ideas and thoughtful suggestions, comparisons between departments don’t always reflect those differences or the planning that goes into events like this.

We understand that not every change will please everyone, but every decision is made by volunteers who give their time to serve this community and to create positive experiences for as many residents as possible. We remain open to constructive feedback and will continue to evaluate how we can improve in the future.
