The nest may be empty now… but some familiar faces are still hanging around. 💙🐦

A few of our previous fledglings stopped by the birdbath, and I was so happy to see them still spending time nearby.

Nesting season may be over, but apparently the bluebird family hasn’t gone far. 🥹

💙 Bluebird Nest Update!

It’s been about 3 weeks since our last update, so we figured it was time to check back in.

After all that nest building, she never ended up laying any eggs. The bluebirds continued to stop by and check the box for a while, but the nest was eventually left unused.

So today, we cleared it out and reset the box. 🪺

A little bittersweet after getting excited for a possible Round 4, but what a season it’s already been. We’re so grateful for every nest, every egg, every hatch, and every little bluebird we got to watch grow up this year. 💙

Now we’ll see what happens next!

💙 From the very first piece of grass… to three successful fledglings.

It’s hard to believe this journey is already over.

Our third Eastern Bluebird family took us through every stage:
🪺 Nest building
🥚 Eggs
🐣 Hatching
🐛 Hundreds of feedings
🪶 Growing feathers
💙 Three successful fledglings

Thank you to everyone who watched, commented, shared, and celebrated every milestone with us.

The nest is empty for now… but Mom and Dad are still checking the box, so we’re hopeful there may still be another chapter to this story.
