Honoring EMS Week at Lake Station Fire Department

During EMS Week, we take a moment to recognize and thank the EMTs, paramedics, and first responders of Lake Station Fire Department.

Every day, our EMS providers answer the call, bringing calm to chaos, delivering critical care under pressure, and making fast, life-saving decisions in unpredictable and often difficult conditions. From medical emergencies and traumatic injuries to high-stress scenes, they show up ready to perform when it matters most.

This job doesn’t stop at the end of a call. It’s nights, weekends, holidays, and missed time with family, all in service of people they may never meet again after the hospital doors close.

To our EMS personnel: your professionalism, dedication, and commitment to this community do not go unnoticed. You are the backbone of emergency response and a vital part of every successful outcome.

Last night Lake Station Engine 6415 responded to the City of Hobart for mutual aid on a commercial structure fire.

The first due Hobart unit discovered a fully engulfed pole barn. The pole barn housed heavy machinery, propane tanks, forklifts, welding equipment, various tools and materials.

There were no reported injuries to civilians or firefighters.
