🚧 Sewer Lining Project Update 🚧

The District's sewer lining project is underway to help maintain and extend the life of our community's sewer system. Crews are using a trenchless method to create a new pipe inside existing sewer lines - strengthening aging infrastructure without major digging.

Come on down to Target today until 2pm to donate new toys for our local community for the holidays. The Lake Stevens Community Resource Center is hosting the toy drive and Lake Stevens Sewer District employees and commissioners are there, along with others, providing holiday cheer!

GOOD NEWS! The Lake Stevens Sewer District's 20th Street NE road closure will open up earlier than expected. 20th Street NE will open at the end of work day Friday, August 15, 2025, to two way traffic with lane shift still implemented as the construction work within the barriers on the Northside of the road being an active construction site.

Despite a clear ruling that the City of Lake Stevens breached its contract with the Sewer District, the City has decided to appeal the Superior Court's decision. Their action is expected to take more than a year and cost rate payers hundreds of thousands of dollars more.

The District is rehabilitating approximately 8 miles of gravity sewer pipes. This $4.4 million project is funded by customer rates and is expected to be completed in April 2026. Starting Monday, April 14, 2025, through Friday, April 18, 2025, Interwest Construction Inc. will perform night work construction on the intersection of 20th Street NE and 125th Avenue NE. The working hours are 9:30 pm to approximately 6:30 am. The roadway will be open to traffic during regular daytime hours. During the night work hours, the detour route will be along 127th Avenue NE.
