This is personal to me. PFAS has contaminated our drinking water throughout my district. My own well is contaminated. And Amara died because of these toxic forever chemicals.

I'm proud to have carried the nation's most comprehensive ban on intentionally added PFAS in consumer products. And even prouder the law carries Amara's name.

Big Industry continues to attack Amara's Law. I will fight to keep the law strong and I'll never cave to special interests when it comes to protecting our drinking water.

"We must come together to demand change and hold those responsible accountable for their actions. I urge all of you to take a stand against these toxic chemicals and demand change. Together we can make a difference and protect ourselves and future generations from the devastating effects of PFAS."

Over $30 million delivered to Hastings for clean water! I fought hard for this. I'm proud to have gotten it over the finish line!

📣 This is a huge win for City of Hastings Government! I was able to secure a whopping $17.5 million for the Hastings water treatment project in this year's bonding bill!

I fought hard for 3 years for this. I am so proud to be able to deliver this crucial funding for Hastings.

With my help, Hastings now also qualifies for over $12 million in 3M settlement funds, and up to $5 million from the Emerging Contaminants fund!

✅️ That's over $30 million for clean water for Hastings!

I'm proud I was able to fight for this critical funding. Because the residents of Hastings should not have to pay for a problem they didn't create.

Here is NUMBER ONE in my Top 5 bills passed during this term.

✅️ Number 1 - Amara's Law! ❤️ This is the most comprehensive ban on intentionally added PFAS in consumer products in the nation! It was named after Amara Strande, a young woman who passed away from an aggressive cancer after growing up in one of the most heavily PFAS-contaminated regions in the state. She was a powerful advocate for this law and I have been honored to carry her legacy forward with this bill.

✅️ Number 2 - My bill cracking down on construction wage theft! My bill closed a loophole that allowed general contractors to turn a blind eye to shady practices by their subs. ✅️ Number 3 - My Fighting Fentanyl package. I not only raised the penalty for distributing fentanyl to the same level of he**in, I passed a bill allowing students to self-carry Narcan at school. I'm proud to be in the fight to keep community members safe from this deadly substance.

Here's a look at the TOP 5 bills I've passed during this term in the MN Senate. Yesterday I highlighted my payday lending ban. Today...

✅️ Number 4 - A remedy for abandoned boats! With most of my district bordering either the St Croix River or the Mississippi, I understand how important it is to keep our waterways clean. Before my bill, we had no good way to deal with abandoned boats. Now, with the passage of my bill, the DNR has the authority to not only remove these eyesore, but to assess the removal costs back against the owner.
