⚠️ Heat Advisory ⚠️

The Lanier County Fire Department would like to remind everyone to use caution as dangerous heat index values are expected today.

🌡️ High temperatures combined with humidity can quickly lead to heat-related illnesses. Please remember to:

* Drink plenty of water throughout the day.
* Avoid strenuous outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day.
* Take frequent breaks in the shade or air conditioning.
* Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing.
* Never leave children or pets unattended in a vehicle, even for a short time.

Please check on elderly family members, neighbors, and anyone who may be more vulnerable to the extreme heat.

Stay hydrated, stay cool, and stay safe!

Training Never Stops.

On July 21, 2026, members of the Lanier County Fire Department began their Emergency Medical Response (EMR) training through South Georgia Medical Center.

These dedicated firefighters are putting in a full day’s work at their regular jobs and then spending their evenings in the classroom to better serve our community. That level of commitment, sacrifice, and professionalism speaks volumes about the men and women of this department.

A special thank you to South Georgia Medical Center for providing this outstanding training and investing in the education of our firefighters. Your partnership helps ensure our personnel are better prepared to serve the citizens of Lanier County.

Thank you to every firefighter investing your time and effort to expand your knowledge and skills. Your dedication to providing the highest level of service to the citizens of Lanier County does not go unnoticed.

The Lanier County Fire Department would like to wish everyone a safe and happy Fourth of July weekend! 🇺🇸
As you celebrate with family and friends, please remember to put safety first. If you are using fireworks, follow all local laws, keep a safe distance, have a water source readily available, and never allow young children to handle fireworks without close adult supervision.
If you’re traveling, buckle up, avoid distracted or impaired driving, and be patient on the roads as traffic may be heavier than usual. If you’re grilling, keep grills away from homes, decks, and other combustible materials, and never leave them unattended.
Let’s all do our part to make this holiday enjoyable and safe for everyone. From all of us at the Lanier County Fire Department, have a wonderful Independence Day, and thank you for helping keep our community safe.

Today, the Lanier County Fire Department and the Lakeland Fire Department participated in DECON (Decontamination) Training instructed by South Georgia Medical Center.

Ongoing training is essential to keeping firefighters prepared for hazardous incidents and emergency responses. Every opportunity to learn and sharpen our skills helps us provide a higher level of service and safety for the communities we protect.

A big thank you to South Georgia Medical Center for providing this valuable training and helping first responders continue to build their knowledge and capabilities.

🚒 Lanier County Fire Department Project Complete! 🚒

The Lanier County Fire Department is proud to announce the completion of a project that will help save taxpayer dollars and improve efficiency for years to come.

Our department now has the capability to conduct our own pump testing on fire apparatus, eliminating the need to rely on outside services and allowing us to keep our equipment mission-ready while reducing future costs.

This accomplishment would not have been possible without the hard work, dedication, and countless hours contributed by our volunteers. Your commitment to improving our department and serving the citizens of Lanier County does not go unnoticed.

Thank you to all the volunteers who helped make this project a success. Your efforts continue to make Lanier County Fire Department stronger and better prepared to serve our community.

The Lanier County Fire Department is proud to participate in the SGMC Foundation Jump Start a Heart Program. This program helps provide lifesaving CPR education and awareness throughout our communities, empowering citizens with the skills and confidence to respond during cardiac emergencies.

Every second counts when someone experiences cardiac arrest, and programs like this help make our community safer and better prepared to save lives.

We would like to thank the SGMC Foundation for their commitment to community health and for partnering with local agencies to make a difference.

On May 26, 2026, the Lanier County Fire Department participated in State Opioid Adapted Response (SOAR) Training. We would like to thank the Lanier County Sheriff’s Office for allowing us to join in on the training. Working together and continuing to train as one team helps us better serve and protect our community.
