It is our pleasure to introduce our July speaker, Kelly Quinn, candidate for Polk County Commissioner who has devoted considerable time and effort to understanding the issues that will shape the future of our county. As Polk County continues to experience unprecedented growth, we are faced with important decisions that will affect our quality of life for generations to come.
Our speaker has taken the time to study these issues in depth, with particular attention to the critical issue of water—one of our county's most valuable and limited resources. Earlier this month, members of our Executive Committee had the opportunity to hear Kelly speak about the issues facing Polk County. Hi Everyone - did you go to see Byron Donald’s at Reececliffe Family Diner yesterday? Met some fantastic Republican Women and we all had a great time.

If you are interested in joining our Republican Women’s Club of Lakeland, or just coming along to a meeting, let us know. We meet on the 4th Wednesday of the month from 11.00/11.30 onwards, have great Speakers, a lunch is available but with a booking, and we are a lovely group.

We also have a booth at First Friday every month - just along from Harry’ s and I’m happy to say we always have a good crowd.

Dr. Devin Stephenson is Florida Polytechnics second President and is responsible for continuing Florida Poly’s tradition of excellence and overseeing the University’s continued growth. He is committed to expanding the University’s state and national reputation as an innovative leader in higher education and graduating Florida’s top engineers.
Two of the many advancements:
Congressman Scott Franklin has championed major federal funding for a new AI and Cybersecurity lab to expand real-world cybersecurity and AI solutions for National Security and Public Safety that strengthen our communities. The new lab also partners with the Polk County Sheriff’s office to provide technical and research support to its AI Investigation Unit.
Florida Polytechnic has partnered with Alakai Defense for Standoff threat detection of explosives, chemical warfare agents, narcotics, and other hazardous materials at long range. This partnership has the potential to position Florida as a national leader in defense technologies, engineering innovation and public safety.
