UPDATE! Murray Cove Boat Ramp, April 14, 2026

Notice: Temporary Closure of Murray Cove Boat Ramp-Extended closure to April 17th
Please note the closure will continue through April 17th. At this time the ramp is set to re-open on April 18th. We will continue to send updates if there are any other unforeseen delays or changes.
The Murray Cove boat ramp on Lake Burton will be closed from April 6-17, 2026 to support the launch of a planned modernization project at Burton Dam.
During this period, construction crews will use the Murray Cove area to assemble a barge that will transport a large crane across Lake Burton to the dam site. For safety and logistical reasons, public access to the boat ramp will be unavailable while this work is underway.
Boaters may continue to access Lake Burton using the following alternate boat ramps:
• Moccasin Creek State Park Ramp: 3655 GA-197, Clarkesville GA 30523
• Tallulah River Boat Ramp: 172 Chester York Road, Clayton, GA 30552
We respectfully ask all lake residents to notify their contractors of this temporary closure in advance. Contractors delivering materials by boat should plan accordingly and use an alternate ramp during the closure window.
Once the barge assembly is complete and the crane has been transported, the Murray Cove boat ramp will reopen for normal public use.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we complete this important project.
For additional information, please call (706) 746-1463.
