Summer Reading starts June 4th! It’s a simple way to challenge yourself to read a bit more over the next couple of months, and it’s open to everyone — Pre-K, kids, teens, and adults. If you have young kids, reading together counts too.

Summer Reading with Your Library starts at all branches on June 4th!
And then starting June 16th, we have Free Summer Meals available at the Redbud Library in Clearlake Tuesday through Friday at Noon, as part of the Lunch at the Library program funded by the California State Library.

Did you catch a Lake County Memorial Day parade last weekend? The bookmobile was in both, one in Lakeport on Saturday and one in Lower Lake on Sunday! If you have any pictures or videos you'd like to share, we'd sure love to see them!

To help us close out One Book, One Coast, LA County Public Library is hosting an author talk with George Takei. George will sit down for an interview with LA County Library Director Dr. Skye Patrick and Cathy De Leon, Director of Long Beach Public Library. This event will take place on Sunday May 31st, 2026, from 2-4 pm PT. Our library branches will be closed but you can register to view the livestream on Zoom and YouTube from wherever you are!

As a Library Assistant, you'll:
📘Help patrons check out materials at bookmobile stops all around the lake.
🚐Assist with library outreach by attending community events.
📱Provide tech help, such as downloading eBooks.
📅Schedule: Tuesday-Thursday, some evenings and weekends.
