Jacob Sayer of Dayton was the winner in the men’s group with a time of 15 minutes, 46.04 seconds. Alysia Rogers of Medina repeated as the women’s winner, crossing the finish line in 19:33.17.

History comes to life one final time this summer! On Monday, Aug. 31, meet Sarah Emma Edmonds, portrayed by Ruth Pangrace of Women in History Ohio.

Born in Canada, Edmonds disguised herself as a man to serve in the Union Army during the Civil War. She even carried out espionage missions behind enemy lines, using disguises to gather intelligence for the Union cause.

Her remarkable story of courage, service and determination continued long after the war, eventually earning her a military pension and a place in the Michigan Women’s Hall of Fame. Learn more: https://ow.ly/Y5mp50ZGEWs.
