How long have you been doing EMS?
This is my 3rd year in EMS and at Lakeside Rescue.

What are your EMS goals?
LVRS has and continues to give me so much space to learn and grow as a provider.

What do you love most about lakeside?
What I love most about Lakeside is the bonds I have made with my crew and the insane experiences we get to share (plus our chain restaurant routine).

When not volunteering, what do you do for work/fun?
When I am not volunteering, I enjoy hanging out with my two cats and you might also find me roller blading out around town. 🛼

How long have you been doing EMS?
I started with Lakeside in October 2019, so coming up on 7 years!

What are your EMS goals?
My EMS goals are to provide high quality patient care, continue furthering my EMS education, and to help assist the county of Henrico in times of need.

What do you love most about lakeside?
I love the community we have built here, I love the friends I have made through Lakeside and being able to help assist people on the worst days of their lives. I also very much enjoy driving lights and sirens.

When not volunteering, what do you do for work/fun?
When I’m not working as a nurse or volunteering on the ambulance, I love to rock climb, spend time in nature, and snuggle with my cats!

Good Morning and Happy EMS Week! LVRS would like to spotlight Nick, one of our ALS providers, for this Meet the Member Monday. We would like to thank him for dedicating his time to LVRS and the community it serves.

Now it's time to Meet the Member!

How long have you been doing EMS?
I have been at Lakeside Rescue since 2013. I have been an EMT since then and a Paramedic since 2020.
One of my favorite parts about EMS is helping patients on their worst days. It’s a pleasure to meet them where they are and offer reassurance and encouragement. My favorite calls are when I can see an intervention work immediately and be a part of saving another life.
What do you love most about Lakeside?
I enjoy teaching newer members and watching them grow.
What are your EMS goals?
My goal as a Paramedic is to keep teaching others and keep challenging myself!
When not volunteering, what do you do for work/fun?
Outside of EMS, I like to stay active by working out, running, yard work, and watching sports. You’ll see me outside grilling in the summer and at the beach in the warmer months!

How long have you been doing EMS?
18 years. Started in Cumberland County in 2008. Have had many jobs in EMS I spanning rural and urban settings.
What are your EMS goals?
To continue improving the EMS profession through education and consistent leadership.
What do you love most about lakeside?
Lakeside has a diverse membership that spans all aspects of life. I think it is that diversity that will allow Lakeside to have continued success.
When not volunteering, what do you do for work/fun?
Currently, I am a Paramedic at VCU Medical Center's Adult ER in downtown Richmond. When not working or at the squad. I spend most of my time lounging by the water, spending time with my cats, or enjoying time with friends. I have also recently retaken up rifle marksmenship, a hobby I greatly enjoyed in high-school but fell to the way side in adulthood.

- How long have you been doing EMS? I've been in EMS for going on 26 years and I've been a member of Lakeside that entire time. (Minus a few years of off time but keeping it simple). I've also been secretary for most of those years.
- What do you love most about lakeside? . What I love most about Lakeside is the camaraderie with my crew and having the same goals of helping the public in their greatest time of need.
- When not volunteering, what do you do for work/fun? When I'm not volunteering, I'm at my full-time job of 30 years with Henrico County public schools as a routing technician and work part-time for hospital to home. I also enjoy spending time with my grandchildren and family.
