🚒 You're never too young to learn about safety!

Join us for a fun and educational safety lesson from Lakeville Firefighters and Lakeville Police officers while enjoying hands-on activities and exciting demonstrations.

Kids will have the chance to explore a real police car and fire truck, learn about animal safety, and discover other important ways to stay safe at home and in the community.

Training today helps prepare for tomorrow’s emergency.

Lakeville firefighters are completing apparatus training as they work toward certifications for driving and operating fire department vehicles. 🚒

As part of the training, crews are simulating a drafting operation by filling a 3,000-gallon tank and drawing that water into a fire engine to supply hose attack lines. This type of training helps firefighters practice moving and managing water when a hydrant may not be immediately available.

It is one more way LFD continues to build skills, stay prepared and serve Lakeville safely.

Red Flag Warning

Due to dry conditions, high winds, and low humidity, the National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning starting Saturday (3/28) starting between 10 AM to noon and until 7 PM for the following counties:

Aitkin, Anoka, Becker, Benton, Big Stone, Blue Earth, Brown, Carlton, Carver, Cass, Chippewa, Chisago, Cottonwood, Crow Wing, Dakota, Dodge, Douglas, Faribault, Fillmore, Freeborn, Goodhue, Grant, Hennepin, Houston, Hubbard, Isanti, Itasca, Jackson, Kanabec, Kandiyohi, Lac Qui Parle, Le Sueur, Lincoln, Lyon, Martin, McLeod, Meeker, Mille Lacs, Morrison, Mower, Murray, Nicollet, Nobles, Olmsted, Otter Tail, Pine, Pipestone, Pope, Ramsey, Redwood, Renville, Rice, Rock, Scott, Sherburne, Sibley, St. Louis, Stearns, Steele, Stevens, Swift, Todd, Traverse, Wabasha, Wadena, Waseca, Washington, Watonwan, Wilkin, Winona, Wright, Yellow Medicine

Burning restrictions are in place for many counties: mndnr.gov/burnrestrictions

Don’t burn brush and yard debris!

Check recent campfires and any burning done recently to ensure the fire is out COLD!
Be extra cautious with outdoor activities that could produce heat or a spark.

Remember, only you can prevent wildfires!
