Happy Summer JFK!

Have you read the book, or listened to someone else read you the book: "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" by Eric Carle? Let us know what you though of the book!

It is one of our favorites and it is a book we have been thinking about so far this summer since we have had some VERY hungry caterpillars in the courtyards at JFK.

We have seen as many as four Monarch Butterfly caterpillars. Now we are watching two of them eat their way through milkweed (not desserts) as they get big enough to become chrysalis and then into beautiful Monarch Butterflies!

Check out the pictures of the JFK caterpillars. One of them turned into its chrysalis just yesterday so we will have a butterfly soon! Once they are butterflies they will get to enjoy the flowers that our 4th grade Garden Club planted this year. Check back for updates.

Congratulations to our 5th Grade students! You made it through elementary school and are on your way to middle school! All your teachers here at JFK over the years have loved watching you grow into the students you are now. We also can not wait to see who you will grow up to be! Have a great summer and enjoy your next adventures in middle school!

Our 5th Grade Students had a celebration yesterday to celebrate their accomplishments! They were also shown a slideshow that was put together by our PTO and pictures from families.
