Expressions Community Theater is casting A Christmas Story and we're looking for performers of all ages.

Bring a headshot or current photo, resume and your calendar. Prepare a 60–90 second monologue. We'll provide monologues from the show to those who register in advance, or you can bring one of your own in a similar style.

Callbacks are scheduled for September 10, 6:00–9:00 p.m.
Rehearsals begin September 28, Monday–Thursday, 6:30–9:30 p.m.

There are still volunteer slots available for the Lakeville Art Festival!

We’re especially looking for Community Art Assistants to help bring this year’s community art project to life! The finished project will be displayed outside of the Lakeville Area Arts Center.

Volunteers will assist the artist with setup, replenish painting materials and greet visitors as they come in. No experience necessary!

Come be part of the fun, get creative and help make this year’s festival a success!

Be part of the 2026 Lakeville Art Festival!

The festival is coming September 19 & 20, and we’re looking for volunteers to help make the weekend a success!

There are many ways to volunteer at the Lakeville Art Festival:
👉Ambassador Volunteers: Assist artists and help on the festival grounds.
👉Youth Art Activities Volunteers: Help children participate in hands-on art projects.
👉Fundraising Assistants: Help accept and organize artwork donated by artists on Saturday.
👉Jury Assistants: help our Judges select the Best-in-Show!
👉Artist Awards Dinner Volunteers: Three volunteers needed Saturday evening to help with setup, replenishing, assisting artists and cleanup.
👉Artist Breakfast Volunteers: Three volunteers needed Sunday morning to help with setup, replenishing, assisting artists and cleanup.
👉Community Art Assistant: Help run this year's community project that will be displayed outside the LAAC in its completion! Volunteers will help run the the project by assisting the artist with setup, replenishing painting materials and greeting visitors as they come in.

Volunteer shifts are between 3-4 hours long and are available on both Saturday and Sunday. If you have volunteered previously, please wear your Art Fest volunteer t-shirt. If not, one will be provided at check-in. No experience is necessary.

Step into a world where time, light, movement and imagination collide. Lauren Jacobson’s dreamlike photographs invite viewers to see the familiar in entirely new ways. Her exhibition is on display at Lakeville City Hall through September 16 and is free to view during regular City Hall hours, M-F 8-4:30.
