Join one (or both) of next week's book clubs!
On Monday, October 26 at 6:30pm, the Weird Book Club will meet to talk about Daniel Kraus' 2026 stunning Pulitzer Prize winning novel, "Angel Down". Described by the New York Times Book Review as "a thunderous gallop of a war novel, a new classic, a best-in-class example of speculative fiction,” this novel plunges readers into the nightmarish battlefields of the First World War. Oh, and, there's an angel on the battlefield that must be saved: that's where the "weird" part comes into play.
On Tuesday, October 27 at 6:30pm, Novel Teas will meet to discuss national bestseller "The Berry Pickers" by Amanda Peters. Described by People Magazine as "a stunning debut about love, race, brutality and the balm of forgiveness," this novel begins with a four-year-old Mi’kmaq girl who suddenly disappears in Maine, leaving a devastated family behind. Years later, an adopted child of privilege named Norma begins to question her memories and visions. Is her family hiding something from her and how can she find out the truth behind these memories?
Both book clubs are open to all adults and include a member of Library staff. Copies of both books are available to borrow at the Library's front desk.
