We were honored to welcome the Blessing family this morning as part of our event to bring awareness about the dangers of drunk driving. Members of their family spoke about losing their daughter and sister Aspen to an impaired driver last year. Mayor Kilgore introduced the family, with participation by Lake Travis Fire Rescue Texas Department of Transportation Lakeway Police Department City of Lakeway Government staff and members of the community. Informational booths and impaired driving simulators were also set up in the courtroom. Thank you to all who participated today, and please talk to your teen and loved one about the dangers of getting behind the wheel during the 100 Days of Dangers Driving (typically Memorial Day through Labor Day - a time that's most dangers on the road for teen drivers).

🙋‍♂️🙋‍♀️PLEASE Join Us THIS Wednesday at 10AM at the Lakeway Justice Complex for an impactful event focused on preventing impaired driving. You'll hear from a family affected by the tragedy of drunk driving, as well as safety advice from first responders. There will be live simulations you can interact with, engaging activities, informational material and free Kona Ice.

The Lakeway Justice Center Parking Lot located at 104 Cross Creek will be CLOSED this weekend for a paving project. If you typically use the parking area to access our parks, please either use the Hamilton Greenbelt parking location across from Lohmans Crossing Road, or the Lakeway Activity Center parking lot. Thank your for your patience and understanding.

Public Announcement
Due to a scheduled software upgrade, the Lakeway Municipal Court will be closed from 9:00 AM on December 5, 2024, until 9:00 AM on December 11, 2024.

During this time:
• Court hearings are canceled. – New Court Notices were emailed and mailed. • Court staff will be unavailable to process payments, respond to email requests, or assist the public. • The online web payment portal will also be unavailable.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding as we work to improve our systems.
