It’s Bridge Day for Main Street! We witnessed setting the first beam at 1:30 this afternoon. Each beam is concrete. They are 124.5 feet long and 5 feet tall. The bridge span is 125 feet which leaves a 3 inch tolerance for the crane operators. The beams weigh 61,000 tons. There are a total of 9 beams going into the bridge foundation.

Getting Main Street completed is the goal of the last several councils, it’s good to see the progress being achieved.

Lemonade Day!!! What a great day for Lakeway and our young entrepreneurs. It was wonderful to see so many families out participating and supporting our community event. Thanks to everyone. We drank a lot of Lemonade.

Lakeway Voters, please exercise your right to Vote!!

Our city has not had a contested election for the last two years. So many of us have lost interest in local elections. Lakeway is a part of the Lake Travis Independent School District. LTISD is the largest tax collector on our property tax bill. Lakeway residents have a vested interest in the election of School Board Trustees.

There is an ongoing election for the LTISD Board. Please go vote!

It was a busy Saturday morning here in Lakeway! I started my day at the Wilderness Run organized by The Friends of the Park and supported by our Parks and Recreation Department. It was wonderful to see so many athletes and families out for the run. It’s always great to be able to award the medals to the top finishers. We recognized a talented 6 year old who completed the 5km race.

After the race, I headed to the Lakeway Activity Center for the spring kickoff. I stopped and examined our newest Police Vehicle. There were a lot of happy children and families in the Activity Center. The petting zoo is always a favorite.

Finally, I visited the Liebelt cabin which was open for the community to visit.

Eggstravaganza!!!!

The City of Lakeway Parks and Recreation team executed another successful community event. We welcomed several thousand people to city park. 20,000 eggs were scooped up by kids from 1-10 in 5 different egg hunts.

It’s Special Olympics of Texas Winter Games Weekend in Lakeway and Bee Cave! The Opening Ceremony was a great success on the Lake Travis High School campus. Today we visited several of the competitions. The Olympians are always so impressive and inspirational. Our city and volunteers get so much from working with the games. I’m very proud to have brought this event to our city.
