You're Invited to Take a Behind-the-Scenes Tour of Lakewood Village's Newest Public Facilities!

The Town Council meeting will open at
7:00 PM, Thursday July 9th
Sam Morgan Public Works Facility
405 Green Meadow

Immediately following the opening of the meeting, residents are invited to join the Mayor and Town Council for a special public tour of the new Sam Morgan Public Works Facility and the Town's Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Tour: 7:00 PM – 7:30 PM

This is a unique opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at the facilities that keep Lakewood Village running every day. Learn more about the infrastructure that provides essential services to our community and see firsthand the Town's investment in its future.

Following the tour, the Town Council meeting will reconvene at 7:45 PM at: Town Hall, 100 Highridge Drive

The Council will continue in regular session to consider and discuss the items listed on the posted agenda.

Today we celebrate 250 years of American independence.

The Fourth of July is a reminder that the freedoms we enjoy today were secured through courage, sacrifice, and a belief that each generation has a responsibility to leave our nation stronger than they found it.

Here in Lakewood Village, the town council and staff are grateful for the opportunity to serve this community and for the neighbors who make this town such a special place to call home. Whether you’re spending the day with family, attending a local celebration, or simply enjoying the beauty of our community, we hope you have a safe and memorable Independence Day.

As we celebrate, let us also remember the men and women of our Armed Forces, our veterans, first responders, and all those who continue to protect the freedoms we cherish.

Happy Independence Day, and Happy 250th Birthday, America!

This sweet girl is looking for her second chance. Many of you may recognize her. For more than a month, she and her doggy companion have been living in our area, doing their best to survive on their own. Sadly, it appears both dogs were abandoned. Today, this beautiful girl is finally safe. The Farage family was able to catch her and bring her in. What they discovered is a dog with the sweetest heart imaginable. She is incredibly friendly, affectionate, and gentle. Despite everything she’s been through, she greets everyone with a wagging tail and a trusting spirit. She wants nothing more than to be near people, soak up attention, and give love in return. Since being rescued, she’s had a bath, her ears have been cleaned, and we were happy to discover she has no fleas or ticks. Tomorrow she will see a vet for a check up. Through it all she has been calm, loving, and grateful for every bit of kindness she has received.

It is obvious she once belonged to someone. She knows how to be loved, and she knows how to love in return. She isn’t a stray at heart… She’s a family dog who deserves to be where she belongs… Safe, cherished, and part of a family. Spend just a few minutes with her, and you’ll understand. She leans in for pets, follows you around, and looks at you with hopeful eyes as if she’s waiting for someone to tell her she’s home.

Denton County Animal Control has been contacted. They were very honest with us that their shelters are full. They can take her but because of overcrowding she will be put down. The thought of that is heartbreaking. This sweet girl has lost so much she does not deserve to lose her life too. She deserves a soft bed to sleep in. She deserves walks, treats, belly rubs, and a family to love. Most of all, she deserves someone who will never leave her behind again.

If you have room in your heart and a securely fenced yard, please consider giving this precious girl the forever home she deserves. She has much love to give and is just waiting for someone to give her a chance. Please contact Linda Ruth or the Farage family if you would like to meet her. And, if you can’t adopt, please share this post. The person who is meant to love her may see it because you shared. Let’s help this sweet girl find the happy ending she deserves.

Construction has begun on Eldorado near the main entrance to Lakewood Village. This project will significantly improve safety at the primary entrance to our community. Planned improvements: longer left turn lane – allowing more vehicles to queue safely when turning into Lakewood Village. Wider left turn Lane - reducing congestion. Raised median installation – providing extra protection from oncoming traffic. Landscaping to provide drainage and protect improvements.

Start date: June 8
Construction timeline: approximately three weeks
Traffic impacts: left turns will not be permitted into Lakewood Village during construction. Drivers will be detoured to turn left at Fishermans Cove into sunrise Bay to access Lakewood Village. Right turns into Lakewood Village will remain open. Lane closures and reduced speeds will be clearly marked throughout the construction zone. There may be some traffic congestion due to traffic merging into single travel lanes during high traffic times.

Safety reminder: please use caution when approaching and entering the intersection during this period. Your safety, the safety of the workers, the safety of all our residents and guests remain our top priority.
