USFS-Rocky Mountain Incident Support Cache Wildfire supply support. Wildfire needs it? We have it, or will get it.

Day 5 of Week of Remembrance 2026, discusses mindsets and the importance of open conversations about the traits we seek to develop as wildland firefighters. We honor Justin Beebe, who was fatally injured by a tree strike on the Strawberry Fire, by asking how those same strengths can increase willingness to take on risk in the context of high-value tasks in fire operations.

Who's in charge now? Was myself.

This week, the wildland fire community is grieving.

We honor the men and women who died while responding to the Snyder Fire near the Colorado-Utah border. We are also holding close the firefighters who were injured, their families, their crew, and every wildland firefighter still on the line.

We want the families to know that we are here for you. You will not have to walk this road alone.

To everyone who has reached out, shared, donated, prayed, or offered support: thank you. Your support helps ensure families of fallen and injured wildland firefighters are met with care, connection, and a community that remembers.

Please keep these firefighters, their loved ones, and the crews still working across the West in your thoughts.
