The Lakewood Fire Department will host a remembrance ceremony in honor of the 25th anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001. Details can be found below.

The Lakewood Fire Dept. will host a ceremony to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks and to honor the people who lost their lives that day. The ceremony is open to the public.

Cove Community Center is open from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM today (Sept. 2) for residents that need a place to cool off.

Additionally, the Cove Community Meal takes place this evening; doors open at 5 PM, and the meal service is at 5:30 PM.

The Human Services Department's monthly Community Meal takes place tomorrow, September 2 at 5 PM. The event takes place at Cove Community Center and is open to the public. A takeout option is available for those who do not wish to stay. See you there!

UPDATE, 1:26 PM: FirstEnergy has pushed the scheduled outage back to a time yet to be determined. The outage should still occur today; no further information has been provided to us at this time.

FirstEnergy has notified the City that they will be temporarily turning off power for several residents today in the Edwards Ave. area at approximately 1 PM. Affected customers should have received the following notification through FirstEnergy’s Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system:

To safely complete this work, your electric service will be temporarily interrupted for about 15 minutes around 1:00 p.m. tomorrow, September 1.
