CALL TO ACTION 📢 The Colorado Cattlemen’s Association asks our members and local affiliates to take action today and tell Congress and the White House to oppose plans to increase foreign beef imports. We urge you to stand with Colorado’s cattle producers and ensure they have a seat at the table as solutions are developed. Policies intended to address beef prices must support, not undermine, domestic production and provide producers with the certainty they need to reinvest in their operations and rebuild the U.S. cattle herd.

Yesterday, CCA President Mark LeValley, President-Elect Jim Magnuson, CCA board member Billy Schmitz, and CCA’s EVP were proud to participate in an agricultural roundtable with U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins and Congressman Gabe Evans.

The conversation covered several CCA priorities, including wolves, agricultural labor, New World screwworm, other animal-health concerns, drought, water, and the many challenges affecting Colorado agriculture.

We appreciate the opportunity to bring Colorado producers’ concerns directly to federal leaders and to continue advocating for practical solutions that support agriculture and rural communities.

As we celebrate Colorado’s sesquicentennial, we also celebrate the farm and ranch families whose hard work, values, and heritage have shaped our state, and will continue to endure for generations to come.

CCA leadership had the opportunity to meet with the USDA under secretary Fordyce, Colorado FSA State Director Jerry Sonnenberg and Congressman Jeff Hurd, and Colorado State Conservationist Clint Evans, and other agricultural leaders to discuss a variety of issues impacting Colorado cattle producers.

Discussions focused on USDA programs through NRCS, FSA and Risk management agency (RMA) as well as the Security, Open Space and Ag Resilience (SOAR) initiative and the critical role USDA plays in supporting Colorado’s working lands.

Thank you to under secretary Fordyce for taking time to travel to Colorado and meet with producers on the ground!

ANNUAL CONVENTION WRAP-UP📢 During Annual Convention in Loveland, we celebrated the transition of CCA’s presidency from Curt Russell (2025–2026) to Mark LeValley (2026–2027).

We were also excited to welcome three new members to the CCA Board of Directors:

CCA leadership & staff has been busy representing Colorado cattle producers the past few weeks!

CCA was proud to represent Colorado’s cattle producers on both the national and international stage over the past week.

CCA leadership participated in the Alberta Beef Producers’ Cross-Border Livestock Talks, joining representatives from Alberta, Iowa, Montana, Nevada, North Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming, during the Calgary Stampede. The program provided an opportunity to exchange ideas, strengthen cross-border relationships, and discuss the shared opportunities and challenges facing the North American cattle industry.

CCA leadership and membership also attended the NCBA Summer Business Meeting in Denver, where they participated in NCBA’s grassroots policy development process, helping shape the national policy priorities that guide the beef industry’s advocacy efforts in Washington, D.C.

Strong relationships and strong grassroots policy are essential to ensuring a successful future for Colorado’s cattle producers and the entire beef industry.
