10 Years as Chief of Police!
Today, the Lakewood Police Department recognizes Chief Gregory H. Meyer as he marks over 40 years in law enforcement while serving 10 years as Chief of Police, a position he assumed on August 1, 2016.
During his tenure as Chief, the Department has continued to grow to meet the needs of our community. More than 40 police officers have joined our ranks, making the Lakewood Police Department the largest and most diverse police department in Ocean County.
The Department has also reestablished its K-9 Unit, which now consists of five K-9 teams, launched the Drone as First Responder (DFR) Program, and is working toward the implementation of a Real Time Crime Center.
Over forty years of service is an accomplishment few reach, and ten years leading one of New Jersey's busiest police departments is a milestone worth recognizing. We thank Chief Meyer for his leadership, his commitment to this Department, and his dedication to the residents of Lakewood.
Please join us in congratulating Chief Gregory H. Meyer on these remarkable milestones.
Congratulations, Chief!
