Custer Road remains closed to through traffic, with access to local parcels available via Grange and Burgess. Construction activities will continue into next week, including streetlight conduit installation and grading. The contractor is also scheduled to pour curb and gutter next week. In addition, PSE Gas, Lakewood Water, Lumen, and Verizon crews will be on site to adjust or relocate utilities that conflict with the planned roadway improvements.

Lakewood, we have a road update for you.

On September 4, from 7:00 - 11:00 p.m., the westbound lanes of Washington Boulevard SW will be closed between Interlaaken Dr SW and Alameda Ave SW. Crews will be replacing two streetlight poles in the median that were damaged by vehicles.

There will be signs for a detour, and local access will still be available.

Thank you for your patience while we finish these repairs.

Custer Road Construction Update 🚧

The storm drainage installation wrapped up this past week, and we’re excited to maintain momentum with streetlight conduit and grading work that will continue into next week. Tacoma Power has completed its power relocation, and three of the four communication lines have been relocated, with the last to follow in the coming weeks. Look for our next video project update later this week.
