Ocean County Fire Marshal Ocean County Fire code enforcement, investigating fires for origin and cause, and much more.

The Ocean County Fire Marshal’s office duties and responsibilities are set forth the N.J.A.C. 40A:14-1. Those responsibilities include:

• To act in an advisory capacity to all fire companies/departments in the County;
• conduct fire investigations pertaining to the cause and origin of fires;
• conduct or review studies pertaining to the elimination of fire hazards;
• conduct fire safety inspectio

ns for all county owned buildings under the New Jersey Uniform Fire Safety Act;
• if requested, accept the responsibility of the fire safety inspection agency for a municipality or fire district under the New Jersey Uniform Fire Safety Act;
• act as the training administrator of county training facilities and coordinate training programs with fire departments, agencies and established training committees;
• offer assistance to families, units of government and mental health agencies including law enforcement for intervention in juvenile fire setting incidents;
• provide for the prevention of fire hazards and initiate programs for public awareness;
• provide fire departments with such assistance as necessary to coordinate, control or extinguish and fire situation or other emergency when requested by the incident commander or fire chief.

As you head out to enjoy the festivities, the Ocean County Fire Marshal's Office is sharing these Summer Crowd Safety Tips to help make your visit safe and fun!

TRAINING NOTICE: Preparing for a Safer Ocean County Fair! 🚒🚑 🚓

Tonight, our office is out on the fairgrounds at Miller Air Park deploying our MAC Unit for a crucial multi-agency disaster preparedness drill.

Running these joint exercises ahead of time ensures that all local emergency personnel are coordinated and prepared to keep our community safe. 🤝✨

🎡🚒 The Ocean County Fire Marshal's Fair Booth will be back for our 2nd Annual Ocean County Fair Scavenger Hunt from Weds, 7/15 - Sun, 7/19!

Thanks to the support of the Ocean County Fair, our completion prize got a little sweeter this year! 🍦🍭

While the scavenger hunt is a lot of fun, its real purpose is to encourage situational awareness: paying attention to your surroundings, the people around you, and where you are. This is especially important in large, busy, and noisy environments like the fair. The scavenger hunt may be a game, but the lesson can last a lifetime.

🔍Stop by the big red Fire Marshal tent to play along and test your observation skills!

🚒 The next generation of Ocean County firefighters is underway.

A new Firefighter I & II recruit class began training last night, just days after we celebrated the graduation of 30 new firefighters on June 30th.

Over the next several months, these recruits will complete 300+ hours of classroom instruction and hands-on training as they work toward earning their New Jersey State certifications and preparing to serve their communities.

Thank you to our Fire Marshal instructors for making these training opportunities possible and helping keep Ocean County safe. 🔥🚒
