There was quite a response to the free drive up COVID testing by Seeds of Hope this morning at the Lamar Aquatic Park. We need to clarify how traffic should flow for the testing to not block traffic with other business in the area and still allow people to use the pool. The map below shows the traffic flow.

Please enter on the west side of the pool parking lot, go down the north side of the parking lot and snake to the south side. Stay right next to the curb. Testers will come to your car to get your information and do the test. Then exit through the loop that goes around the south side of the pool.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, there will not be open swim from 1-3 pm on Thursday, January 13. Also, because of the Drive through COVID testing being based out of our lobby for a short time, all pool patrons will need to enter the indoor pool through the side sliding glass door. Thank you all for your patience and for allowing us to help with this service to the community.

Our Story

The Lamar Aquatic Park opens for the summer 2020 season on Thursday, May 28. Due to CoVID-19 we are currently limited to 60 swimmers and 40 observers (including our staff) in the facility at a time. We will be open for two sessions a day Monday-Saturday, Noon to 3 p.m. and 3:30 to 6:30 p.m., and one session on Sunday, 1-4 p.m. Admission is $5 per person per session. People can make reservations to ensure they have a spot at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/60B0C4BAAAC22A7FD0-lamar. We hope that we will be able to open more spots as the summer goes on! The deck has been sectioned off with 8-foot family spots, with six feet of separation between them to follow current social distancing guidelines. Our staff will be regular cleaning and disinfecting throughout the day and the whole facility will get a complete disinfection between sessions, as well as at the end of each day.

Season passes are available. Individual passes are $75. Family passes are $150 for two adults and three children from the same household, along with a babysitter. Additional children (Still from the same household) can be added for $10 each. Season pass holders will still want to make reservations to ensure they have a spot to swim in the session they want.

Lamar Aquatic Park features two outdoor pools, an 87,000 gallon zero entry leisure pool, and a 121,000 six-lane, 25-yard competition pool. Kids enjoy our water slide, lily pads, floatable animals (including an octopus new for 2020!) and other water features in the leisure pool. One lane in the lap pool is always reserved for lap swimming for those that want exercise and older kids can enjoy splashing around in the rest of the competition pool.

We also have a two-lane indoor pool that is used for water exercise classes, lap swimming and water walking. One class meets on Mondays and Thursdays at 8 a.m., and another at 9 a.m. Monday through Thursday. From 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday the indoor pool is open to those wanting to swim laps, water walk or do other water exercise or therapy.
