Main Street Lamar

Main Street Lamar Lamar Partnership Inc., now rebranded as Main Street Lamar is a Colorado Main Street Community managed and funded by the City of Lamar.

It is responsible for promoting economic opportunities and community connections to Lamar’s Main Street district. Lamar is a Colorado Main Street Community that follows the National Main Street Center’s Four Point Approach model, which is successful in many communities across the United States. The Four Points (Design, Promotion, Economic Restructuring and Organization) provide a proven comprehensive method for downtown revitalization.

Join us tomorrow, Saturday, December 13th from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at 103 N. 2nd Street in Lamar for Plastic Recycle Day.

To participate, all plastics must be placed in the official green recycling bags, which are available for $7.00 each. Bags can be purchased with cash on-site during the event or in advance at The Cornerstone Resource Center, the Public Works office, or the Community Development office located at 405 East Olive.

Only plastics labeled with recycling numbers #1, #2, and #5 will be accepted. Common examples include water and soda bottles, milk jugs, detergent containers, soap bottles, large supplement tubs, triple-rinsed chemical jugs, medicine bottles, and dairy tubs.

Please do not bring plastics labeled with #3, #4, #6, or #7, or items such as styrofoam, plastic pet food or feed bags, and frozen vegetable or meat bags.

Reminder: The City of Lamar would like to inform residents about the upcoming Trash & Sanitation Schedule for Thanksgiving week. Please note that trash and sanitation services will run on an adjusted schedule during the holiday. To help our crews stay on track, please place all containers curbside the night before collection or no later than 6:00 AM on your pickup day.

Residential Trash Pick-up -
Thursday trash pick-up route will be collected on Wednesday, 11/26
(includes Willow Valley & Parkview area)
Friday trash pick-up route will remain the same

Commercial Trash Pick-up -
Wednesday trash pick-up route will be collected on Tuesday, 11/25
Thursday trash pick-up route will be collected on Wednesday, 11/26

This vital role leads the City’s Main Street (MSL) district initiatives and coordinates key city and community events. It also provides assistance to businesses within the Lamar Redevelopment Authority district.
