The Lamar Police Department’s Facebook fan page was created by the department to facilitate the exchange of information with the public at large. To promote such exchange the department encourages and welcomes postings and comments from the general public about issues related to law enforcement in Lamar Missouri. With that said, however, the police department reserve

s the right to regulate the content of, and where necessary delete completely, any objectionable entry that appears on its fan page. The Lamar Police Department is responsible for monitoring all postings to its page and may take appropriate action whenever necessary, and at its sole discretion, to protect other fan page visitors from inappropriate or otherwise harmful information and links. To that end, the Lamar Police Department will remove as soon as feasible any posting that specifically involves:


• Advertisements of any kind.

• Profane language or content.

• Content that promotes, fosters, or perpetuates discrimination on the basis of race, creed, color, age, religion, gender, marital status, status with regard to public assistance, national origin, physical or mental disability, or sexual orientation.

• Explicit or implied sexual content.

• Conduct implying, promoting, or encouraging illegal activity.

• Information that might compromise the safety or security of the public.

• Any other posting that, by its nature or content, might harm public welfare.

• Any posting that does not serve a constructive purpose or that is intended to foster disharmony.

• The purpose of this page is to facilitate communication between the Police Department and the public that we serve.

Rainfall chances continue across the area today and into Friday. The highest rainfall amounts are expected across southeast KS into southwest MO. This area has the greatest potential for localized heavy rainfall and flooding as some areas may see up to 1-2+ inches of rain. However, most areas in Missouri remain dry through tonight.

Unsettled weather continues across the area today and through the Memorial Day weekend. Periods of showers and a few thunderstorms, with the potential for localized heavy rainfall and flooding Friday. While daily rain chances exist, many locations may remain dry some days with no all day washouts.

A Tornado Watch has been issued for portions of southeast Kansas and western Missouri through 11 PM tonight in association with the first of several rounds of severe weather expected today into tonight.
