***Update #1***

The leak has been isolated, and repairs are in progress. If we can take it easy on usage for a couple of hours, it would be greatly appreciated, but all should be good.

🚨 WATER LEAK NOTICE 🚨

The City of Lamar is currently responding to a significant water leak within the system.

To help maintain adequate water pressure and reduce strain on the water system while crews work to make repairs, we ask all residents to conserve water whenever possible until further notice.

Please postpone non-essential water use, including: 💧 Laundry 💧 Dishwashing 💧 Watering lawns💧 Other water-intensive activities

Limiting water usage will help our crews complete repairs more efficiently and minimize impacts to customers across the community.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. Updates will be provided as information becomes available.

Thank you for helping conserve water and support our repair efforts.

In case you did not know...IT IS HOT OUT. This week's highs are projected into the 100s every day.

To help facilitate work and employee safety, we are altering the hours of our utility and public work staff. They will be reporting for work between 5:30 and 6:00 depending on department, which means they will be leaving earlier in the afternoon. The goal is to help keep our employees safe and healthy.

If you need anything from our departments, please get those requests in early.

Be safe, drink water, and stay cool.
