The Lamesa Economic Development Corporation & Lamesa Economic Alliance Project are respectively Type A and Type B not-for-profit economic development corporations established by the City of Lamesa to strengthen and diversify the tax base of Lamesa. led by the Development Corporation Act of 1979. LEDC and LEAP provide a broad range of free and confidential services to business and industry considering new locations for expansion, relocation, or consolidation. LEDC and LEAP work to address multiple factors of production, including land/building inventory, workforce development, entrepreneurship, and other key elements to support economic development, including grants and loans. Busines services include identifying available sites and facilities, accessing applicable local and statewide business support and incentive programs, and evaluating critical site location factors. LEDC and LEAP also assist existing companies through initiatives and an upcoming Retention and Expansion program. The mission of LEDC & LEAP are to “Establish a Vibrant and Competitive Economy” to improve the quality of life in Lamesa, TX.

A special thank you to the Dawson County Library for providing the movie and screen for this family-friendly community event. We also extend our sincere appreciation to Dawson County for allowing us to use the beautiful courthouse lawn for this community gathering. Your support helps make events like this possible for our families and community.

Join us for the Independence Day Evening Parade on Friday, July 3, 2026, at 7:00 PM as we come together to celebrate our nation's 250th Anniversary!

We invite all businesses, organizations, churches, clubs, schools, sports teams, and community groups to participate and help make this a historic community celebration.

🛍️ Vendors will be set up throughout downtown all day and into the evening, so come shop, eat, and enjoy the festivities! While our vendors remain open downtown, the parade will take place at 7:00 PM, creating a full evening of family fun and community spirit.

🚨 Attention Mobile Food Vendors! 🚨

Please be aware of important changes regarding mobile food permits in Texas.

According to updates in Texas House Bill 2844:

✅ Mobile food permits issued by the South Plains Public Health District on or after July 1, 2025, will only be valid through June 30, 2026.

✅ Beginning July 1, 2026, all mobile food permits must be obtained through the State of Texas. Local permits will no longer be valid after that date.

If you operate a food truck, trailer, or other mobile food unit, please review the notice and make plans accordingly.
