Our dispatchers at State Radio have reported 250 hang up calls in the last week. Please check emergency settings options on your phone to ensure you are not dialing 9-1-1 by mistake. For example, older IPhones have settings in which 9-1-1 is automatically called if the power button is tapped five times. Newer phones require holding the side button until an Emergency SOS slider appears. Some phones will dial 9-1-1 when dropped because it detects someone has fallen. If you have called 9-1-1 by mistake, DON’T HANG UP! Stay on the line and let the dispatcher know you have misdialed.
