The fire in Gatesville and the fire in Georgia that burned down their courthouse scares me!! Our District Clerk records dated back to the beginning of Lampasas have not been digitized. If a fire was to happen we would lose all of the oldest records of Lampasas county. My fight to ask to show me how much money we have in special dedicated funds which are controlled by the commissioner court is over on 12/31/2026. Please keep up the fight and questions how can we get this done. The district clerk office collects funds that go to these funds. This is a statue which we must follow. Just keep up the fight to get these records restored. This is the law to preserve all records from 1950 and older.
