Authorities say the fire remains active with no containment reported so far. It’s still unclear whether the reported explosion is connected to the fire.

Federal authorities reportedly warned law enforcement agencies in California that Iran had considered launching a drone attack from a vessel positioned off the U.S. West Coast. According to a report citing an FBI alert, the plan allegedly involved unmanned aerial vehicles targeting unspecified locations in California if the United States carried out military strikes against Iran. Officials say there is no information about specific targets, timing, or individuals involved. State officials say they are coordinating with federal agencies to monitor the situation.

Lancaster Standoff Ends With Man Found Dead Inside Blue Sky Court Home

LANCASTER — A more than 15-hour standoff in a Lancaster neighborhood ended Tuesday morning when deputies found a man dead inside a home near Blue Sky Court and Engle Way.

Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department responded around 3:30 p.m. Monday to reports of a barricaded, armed suspect at a residence on Blue Sky Court. After arriving, they requested assistance from the department’s Special Enforcement Bureau, which took over tactical operations at the scene.

A Crisis Negotiation Team attempted to communicate with the suspect overnight in an effort to resolve the situation peacefully, according to authorities. As a precaution, nearby homes were evacuated.

During the standoff, Avenue J-8 was shut down between 21st Street West and 25th Street West.

Around 5:45 a.m., a shot may have been heard. Shortly afterward, Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau detectives were called to investigate. The barricade was declared over about an hour later, when deputies located the man deceased inside the residence.

No additional details about the suspect or the circumstances surrounding his death were immediately released.
