My name is Laterica Moore, Vice President of Grab One Save One, a California-based nonprofit organization dedicated to housing and restoring individuals and families facing homelessness, disability, trauma, and crisis. I am writing to request immediate support from anyone who has access to a residential property or building that could be used to house those in need.
We are actively seeking:
• A donated home or facility
• A seller-financed property
• Or a space we can temporarily lease or use to shelter homeless and at-risk individuals
This is not just a general inquiry it is urgent. We have individuals and families ready to move in today, but no place to offer them safety and stability.
Our organization is fully 501(c)(3) approved, and all donations including property are eligible for tax deduction under federal law.
Why We Need Help Now
My husband and I started Grab One Save One from personal experience. We come from poverty, pain, and real hardship. We’ve survived homelessness, abuse, and broken systems. We know what it feels like to have nowhere to turn. That’s why we created this organization to be the support we once needed.
In April, we suffered a devastating loss. We used our own funds and filled a property with donated furniture and supplies, preparing it to house families immediately. The owner changed the locks, kept everything, and left us starting over with nothing. Still, we refused to quit.
We are now rebuilding from scratch. Our team is small but effective. Everything we’ve done so far has come from sacrifice, resilience, and community support. But we cannot move forward without a physical location to operate from.
What We’re Looking For
We are urgently seeking a home or building that can house 5 to 10 people, ideally with multiple bedrooms and bathrooms. It must be located in or near Lancaster, Palmdale, or the greater Los Angeles area. We are open to:
• Donated properties
• Seller financing agreements
• Long-term partnerships
• Vacant homes or facilities that are currently unused
This property would allow us to:
• House veterans, elderly, disabled, and homeless families immediately
• Generate sustainable income to hire staff and grow
• Build the foundation for our first licensed group home for youth
Who We Serve
• Veterans
• Seniors
• Adults with disabilities
• Women and children
• Families in crisis or transition
We provide more than just housing we offer mentorship, life skills, meals, clothing, and guidance toward independence.
Our Mobile Outreach Effort
We recently received a donated RV, which now serves as our mobile outreach unit. Through this vehicle, we visit encampments, parking lots, and neighborhoods distributing meals, hygiene kits, blankets, and emergency support. This mobile program allows us to meet people where they are, but without a permanent home base, we are limited in how far we can go to truly transform lives.
How You Can Help
If you own or know of a property that is sitting vacant, in probate, available for seller financing, or simply unused, please consider helping us turn it into a life-changing space.
You can also support us by sharing this letter with:
• Property owners
• Churches or faith-based groups
• Local investors
• Realtors or community organizations
We are not asking for charity. We are asking for the opportunity to create lasting change. With the right space, we can serve more people, employ more staff, and expand our impact to meet the urgent needs of our community.
Thank you for your time, your consideration, and any connection or support you can offer.
Sincerely,
Laterica Moore
Vice President
