The cities of Lancaster and DeSoto partner annually to celebrate the 4th of July! This year’s celebration will include family fun, carnival-style food, bounce houses, face painting, games, live entertainment and an old fashion firework show at the Helen Giddings Amphitheater in Lancaster Community Park. The celebration will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, July 4th with LIVE musical entertainment which includes the bands, N Tense, D Groove, Chadney Christle and Atonement; a world renowned violinist extraordinaire, Richmond Punch and gospel sensation, Wess Morgan headlining the evening. The community is invited to bring some lawn chairs or blankets to enjoy this FREE event.

Fire Safety Reminder: By city ordinance, fireworks can only be used by licensed professionals. It is illegal to possess, sell or use fireworks within city limits. Violators could face fines up to $2,000.

The Lancaster Chamber is proud to announce Rayfield Wright, NFL Hall of Famer and 2-Time Dallas Cowboys Super Bowl Champion, has agreed to serve as its Honorary Chair with the Hon. Helen Giddings, Texas House of Representatives - District 109, for the 2014 Lancaster Chamber Golf Tournament. Wright and Rep. Giddings joins the list of the two Golf Tournament Co-Chairs, Deylan Walker of G Walk Group Renovation and Repair, and Sharon Books of Traditional Healthcare Services.

The golf tournament will be held Monday, October 13 and the event begins at 10:30 a.m. (Registration - Contests - Free Practice Balls); 11:15 a.m. (Lunch); and a 12:30 p.m. (Shotgun Start). It will be held at the Lancaster Country View Golf Club located at 240 West Beltline Road, Lancaster, Texas 75146.

This is quite a momentous occasion for the Chamber! The Chamber plans to hold a great, fun golf tournament and it needs your support, so you are invited to attend!
