Are you a parent in Pennsylvania receiving Early Intervention services? Early Intervention is not only here to support children ages birth to three years old who have developmental delays and/or disabilities. We also focus on supporting the parents, caregivers, and family members in the child’s life. One of the ways that we look to do this is by connecting families with other parents who are receiving Early Intervention services.

Join Parent to Parent of PA on for their virtual Parent Cafe! Join for this networking event for PA families with children receiving Early Intervention Services and/or Home Visiting Family Supports. World Play Day 2026 is on Thursday, May 28th! This day focuses on connecting people of all ages through play while highlighting play as a fundamental right for development, health, and joy!

Play is so important for your baby and toddler’s development! As a parent, you are your child's very first and favorite playmate! Playing with your child in the first three years of life helps the two of you build a warm and loving relationship. Playing together also supports the development of essential social skills (like sharing and turn taking), language skills (like labeling objects, making requests, commenting), and thinking skills (like problem-solving). Playing together with your child is not only fun, but a critical time to support your baby or toddler’s healthy development.

Do not hesitate to reach out to Lancaster County Early Intervention if you have questions or concerns about how your child is playing and interacting! (717) 209-3354

Early Intervention partners with parents, caregivers, and families to help support their infants and toddlers that have developmental delays and/or disabilities. One area of development that Early Intervention helps to support is the child's social and emotional development. Caregivers, teachers, and family members all have roles to play in fostering young children’s social and emotional development and mental health.

Interested in learning ways to support social-emotional development and help families support healthy development at home?
Here are handouts based on a child’s age, that include developmentally appropriate tips, ideas and activities.
By increasing our support of a child’s social-emotional development, we can make a positive difference in their mental health, behavior and overall well-being.

Concerned about your child’s social and emotional development?
You can consider reaching out to Lancaster County Early Intervention for a developmental screening and evaluation at no cost to you. Based on the developmental evaluation, your child may qualify for free developmental services with Early Intervention. You can contact Lancaster County Early Intervention by calling (717) 209-3354.
