At George Ross, we empower our 225 students to reach their highest potential in a positive, supportive and child-centered learning environment each day from 8:40 AM-3:15 PM. Our dedicated staff of 40 is committed to working with our families to help each and every student reach that potential. At George Ross we focus on the following educational practices:
Educating the whole child and addressing each learner’s needs. Using data and best practices to select, adjust, and deliver instruction. Providing on-going professional development for staff. Collaborating with our community to offer various learning activities. We also believe literacy is the foundation to develop expertise in math, reading, and writing. Science, with its “hands-on” approach, encourages discovery, problem solving, and critical thinking skills. Our hope is that you will immediately feel a sense of community when you walk through the doors of our school. Parents and community members are truly valued at Ross and we encourage you to get involved. George Ross is truly a special place where dreams are realized and success is achieved! We welcome you! Mark your calendars because we're having a delicious time together! Our school is teaming up with Friendly's Restaurant for a special evening where 20% of net sales will support our organization. All you need to do is show the flyer that came home in your child's Thursday Folder when you order—that's it! 🎟️

“Tale as old as time, song as old as rhyme...” Ross Elementary School has transformed into an enchanted village as students took the stage for their production of Beauty & the Beast.

The production is filled with big musical numbers, handmade sets, colorful costumes, and plenty of moments that had the audience laughing and applauding throughout the night. But what makes the show memorable was seeing students fully commit to their roles and support each other every step of the way.

Thank you to our teachers, staff, families, and volunteers who supported the production from start to finish and gave the students a chance to be a part of something special.

Opportunities in the arts matter at the School District of Lancaster. This gave students a chance to try something new and finding their voice, while creating memories they’ll carry long after the curtain closes.

We’re incredibly proud of our Ross Rockets for all they accomplished with Beauty & the Beast! Happy Opening!

Now that we can be reasonably confident that winter weather is behind us, we want to share an update about the end of the school year.

After reviewing our calendar, we can confirm that students will still meet the required number of instructional hours. The last day of school for students will be Friday, May 29. The final day for teachers will remain June 1.

Thank you for your patience as we worked through this process!
