11/4/25 ROAD CONSTRUCTION UPDATE:

The Full Depth Reclamation is complete on Old Union Turnpike and will shift over to Fort Pond Rd. Old Union Turnpike will remain a dirt surface until all Full Depth Reclamation is complete on Fort Pond Rd. and N. Shirley Rd. and then the Re-Paving process will begin. Please be advised there will be Road Closed Signs at each end but if you live, work, or are attempting to get to a business on those roadways, stop and talk to the detail officer on scene and they will direct you to the best route. This project is expected to take approximately 2 weeks to complete

🎃 Town of Lancaster – Trick-or-Treating Hours & Safety Tips 🎃

The Town of Lancaster recommends Trick-or-Treating between 5:30 PM and 8:00 PM on Halloween night.

To help ensure a safe and enjoyable evening for all, please keep these safety reminders in mind:

Stay on well-lit streets and use sidewalks whenever possible.
Cross only at crosswalks and obey traffic signals.
Carry a flashlight, glow stick, or wear reflective material to increase visibility.
Parents should inspect all treats before children enjoy them.
Motorists: please slow down and use extra caution, as children will be out walking in costumes.

It is with a heavy heart that we share this post.

Our sympathy goes to Chief Hamburger's family, friends, Bolton police department, and the town of Bolton.

To the Bolton Community:
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our Chief of Police, Luke Hamburger, who died unexpectedly on Sunday, October 5.
For the past two decades, Chief Hamburger served our community with dedication, professionalism, and integrity. As a leader, he combined warmth with strength, and his commitment to community policing and public safety made our town a better place. He was a lovely person whose presence brought out the best in those around him. His loss will be felt deeply by all who knew him, and his imprint on our town will remain for years to come.
Our hearts go out to his family, friends, and colleagues in the Police Department during this incredibly difficult time. We ask that the community join us in keeping them in their thoughts.
We will share information about services and ways to honor Chief Hamburger's memory as details become available.

Route 117 Bridge Repairs
Bolton & Lancaster, MA

Temporary Bridge Closure

What is Happening?
MassDOT is performing necessary repairs to the bridge carrying Route 117 over Still River on the Bolton/ Lancaster town line. To carry out the repairs, the bridge must close temporarily to traffic.
How Will This Affect You?
On Friday October 3 at 8:00 P.M., the bridge will temporarily close to traffic. During the closure, a signed detour will be in effect (see map on the second page). The bridge will reopen by Friday October 17. The bridge will remain fully closed to traffic for two weeks. Travelers should expect delays.
Traffic Detour
Route 117 Eastbound:
• Travel south on Main Street/ Route 70
• Turn left onto Center Bridge Road
• Turn left onto Lower Bolton Road
• Continue onto Still River Road/ Route 110
• Turn right onto Route 117
Route 117 Westbound:
• Travel south on Still River Road/ Route 110
• Continue onto Lower Bolton Road
• Turn right onto Center Bridge Road
• Continue straight onto Main Street/ Route 70
• Turn left onto Route 117

Lancaster Police stuff a cruiser food drive officially starts at 10am this Saturday September 13th at 10am to 1:00pm. But thanks to River Terrace rehabilitation and health care center, we are off to a great start. We will be out in front of the Lancaster Police Department collecting food to benefit the Lancaster food pantry. Please stop by.
