💡 Why Government Can't Solve Poverty—But You and I Can.
By no fault of its own, the government is simply ill-equipped to provide the tailored, relational help that truly moves people out of poverty. We believe poverty alleviation requires more than just transactions. It requires transformation.
Local, private charity has the flexibility to grant assistance based on each individual’s unique situation—like helping someone save for the future or making help contingent on the participant's willingness to be part of their own solution.
The hard truth: Since the start of the War on Poverty in 1964, government spending has soared to around one trillion dollars a year, yet the poverty rate hasn’t budged. The complex roots of poverty cannot be untangled by compulsion. They require the engagement of local neighbors like you and me.
Let's be a part of real solutions in our community! CVCCS is proud to be part of the True Charity Network, a national movement of non-profits and local churches committed to this approach. Learn more about our solutions to poverty at cvccs.org.
