Lancaster Lions Club, Lancaster, Wisconsin Motto - We Serve

The Lancaster Lions Club is a dedicated group of volunteers who proudly serve the community of Lancaster, Wisconsin.

The Lions organization had its beginnings in Chicago in 1917. Our founder, Melvin Jones, a local businessman, had a vision to start a service organization that would eventually be international in scope. In 1920, the first club was established in Canada. At the Lions International Convention in 1925, Helen Keller challenged the Lions to be "knights of the blind in the crusade against darkness". Li

ons accepted the challenge and have been providing services to the visually impaired ever since. In 1927, Lions expanded to Mexico, followed by Europe, Asia and Africa in the 1950's and 1960's. We are now the largest service organization in the world, with 1.4 million members in more than 46,000 clubs in over 200 countries and geographic regions.
